Chennai changes

Written on January 24th, 2007 by Mysorean

This is going to be a landmark in the history of public transport at Chennai. Provided it is implemented fully and in spirit also. Provided the auto drivers don’t haggle for the rates despite the rate cards and the electronic meters. Provided the meters are not tamperable.

Yeah, we’ve been waiting for this to be implemented for years! I infact learnt cursing only after numerous abuses given to autokarans.

    Thanks for your comment! :)

Let them charge the same old prices. It’s the unpleasant taste they leave once you have dealt with them that (hopefully) won’t exist anymore!

It is indeed a major shift… especially for the Chennai auto drivers who are a “class” of their own..

Agreed;we are not the target audience. But;atleast the ‘target audience’ must be served good food! That’s my point.Go to Taj Mahal hotel in Abid’s;Shanbhag in Basheer Bagh or Taj Tristar in Secunderabad(Patny centre);prices are in the ‘medium range’ and also quality is good.
