Things have been going on in a hazy fashion. I don’t seem to have a grip on what is happening around me and worse, to me also. And this string of thoughts has stretched me quite a bit.
Suddenly, relationships seem shaky. The ones that I thought were unshakeable are now swaying to the winds of miscommunication. And when this happens, people around you seem to be diminishing and you are actually wondering if you made any mistake. And quite aptly I read one status message of one of my friends on GTalk which made me think. It was “Never apologize for expressing your feelings. Nobody apologizes for saying the truth”.
People at work take you for granted. You work your head off for two weeks continuously working 7.00AM to 9.30PM days with quality work throughout. And finally after being given a pat on the back for excellent work you are given the slip for something that should have been the result of that hardwork! You are overlooked! This has left me betrayed. I don’t like the feeling at all.
The silver lining however was that I was in Hyderabad over the weekend and enjoyed the wonderful weather completely. Had missed mom’s food for such a long time that even the saaru (rasam) she made tasted like amrutha. Also enjoyed burgers from a local bakery (King and Cardinal, where even VVS Laxman enjoys having burgers) that my brother and I almost revere! :) Any Hyderabadi worth his salt would swear by King and Cardinal!
I have been observing the Presidential elections taking shape and didn’t really know how to react to whatever was happening. Everybody is saying “President’s post should not be politicized” and that’s exactly what they are doing. “Enough is enough” boss!
And boss brings me to “Sivaji”. I have gone totally crazy in Superstar’s world. At the most relevant and irrelevant of places I happen to mouth “Coool” and get weird stares from everyone around!
Well, this is life! Sometimes hard, sometimes soft. Sometimes you want to just go away from everything, sometimes you want to just be in the center of things. Sometimes, you just want to be silent and peaceful, sometimes you just want to scream out. Taking it all at the same time is the best part of life. Have a nice day everyone! :)
If a person can control everything what’s happening around him then why does God exists. Life cannot always taste like Besan Laddu, if it so you will start hating it one day.
Just stay steady… Focus on the positives and on things you have definite control. Everything else will fall in place…
Adi…Happens all the time…it seems like everything is going against the grain.. most of the time you’ll find that its your perceptions… things are never as bad as they seem to be..
You’ll bounce back…
Actually you already have… going by the ending of your post…
adi,
sometimes we need to be a silent observer and let things go at its pace. and just enjoy life as it comes. it has worked for me many a times. and after such a pace, your energy level goes up!
best wishes
regards and take care
rk
ps: your comment to my post on ‘blog addiction’ bowled me over!
Dear,
Obviously life is a cycle of changes – sometimes good sometimes bad…so just ignore it unless you are the center of problem and more than 2 people are pointing out mistakes…
Regarding working like a donkey and missing the pat….it happens to 7 people in a team of 10 – the loudest who claim they did it get the pats!!!
Take every opportunity to add value to your resume so that your talents get recognized down the line – truth hurts but it helps in the long run.
cheers
mohan!
Kirthana:
A person cannot control everything around him, but for sure can ensure that good happens. And for the record, God is inside us. We are God. Not in the egoistic fashion but in the spiritual fashion.
Pradeep:
I see your point. Thanks a lot! :)
Vijay:
Yes, you are right! Thanks! :)
Rk:
I think you are 100% right. I totally agree with you. Sometimes we need to be a silent observer and not try to jump into too much of “I control my destiny” kind of stuff!
Thanks so much for your comment! Now you have me bowled over!
PS: While both of us are bowling, who is batting?! ;)
M O H A N :
Extremely practical adivce. I take it completely. Very valuable. Thanks a million! :)
thanks adi.
namm slangalli, ‘batting aadodu’ andre sakkatthagi oota maadodhu antha kooda.

Adi,
Over the last few days I’ve learnt that you dont always get what you deserve… but you’ve got to live with. That’s what’s called courage.
But life always gives you a second chance… be hopeful and things will turn out fine…
take care
Nivi
It has been almost 10 years since i stayed out of Hyderabad, so could you please enlighten me where this place “King and Cardinal! ” is?
No comments about your work, as your Boss, you and everyone else knows that time heals everything, thats why boses can take seemingly risky decisions (it might not be that risky anyway) when it involves people under them.
But one thing i would surely do is learn from it.
Kirthana:
I forgot to thank you for your comment!
Can I get my dinner now please?!
Rk:
Batting aytu sir. Fielding (nidde) kooda aytu! I have come in now for second innings of bowling! Heh heh! :)
Nivi:
If it was nature I would have just shut up thinking that’s what I deserved. But this was someone else playing unnecessary politics! And it was because of that I lost out!
I shall look forward to the second chance. Thanks!
Sundeep:
‘King and Cardinal’ has been around since time immemorial in the Narayanaguda Himayatnagar crossroads.
As long as you are learning from others, you are living a wonderful life! :)
Hi adi, the worst thing that could happen in any relationship is miscommunication. I know how much it can wreck a relationship. U would expect things to settle down before u actually make ur moves. But please ensure that u don’t chip in when its too late!!! Its better late than never, fix it at the earliest. Let things get loud and clear instead of being in grey shades. I wish everything gets okies at the earliest. Good Luck!!!
Adi,
Oh well, you probably have gone past this point in the circle several times, and you are bound to get back to the point several more times in the future. I guess these are inevitable. Smile, move on, and don’t worry until your closest pals have an issue.
Peace :)
Adi,

Then I’m worth my sugar!
Hang in there sir – things have a way of turning around.
BTW, do we have an identity crisis? A Hyderabadi calls himself a Mysorean but lives in Chennai… Just a cosmopolite, right?
I hope there has been a change in your (mental) fortunes since you’ve posted this!
God Bless!
Hope you are feeling your usual self by now – time is the best healer and also time is the best way to set things right…
Also, hard work is always recognised and an honest person always succeeds… so don’t worry :)
and it seems like you had a great time going back home to your parents for the weekend…
Suresh S:
Thanks! You are right and it looks like we think alike too! But there’s a small problem in our way of thinking actually: If the other party is not interested in talking with you, there’s little that you can help to make them talk, right?! And this only builds on the frustration!
December Stud:
This is an issue with the closest pal. Hence, the worry. But I see your point. We are bound to return to this point several times in the future. For the record, this is definitely not the first time something like this has been happening!
Veena Shivanna:
Chakra namma kyalle ide. Naave urulisabeku! Try madta iddini. Nodana.
S.Ganesh Kumar:
I will read that link. HR is one irritating fellow. I believe the movie has taken 95% opening across India. Talk about stupidity!
“worth your sugar”? You don’t know where ‘King and Cardinal’ is? Aren’t you interested in good food?
mp:
Well, identity crisis anthu illa. Cosmopolitan kooda illa. Somewhere in between antha ankoLaNa! :P
Anand Balaji:
The change is what I need to effect within myself. Tough to do. Hoping it pans out easy.
Pixie:
“hard work is always recognised and an honest person always succeeds”
Even I believe in this completely. I hope this is a temporary reaction from my end. But it does leave a bad taste with you, don’t you think so?
And yes, the time I spent at home was so damn refreshing! It was out-of-this-world!
Yup.. it does… It also affects your optimism if it keeps on happening! But, I’ve seen that in the longer run, no matter what happens – you ARE the winner – because of your honesty and hardwork, so the secret is to keep on ploughing ahead no matter what or however hard it might be! :-)
So, chin up! :-)
I am sorry to hear that your recent world has felt shaken. Just trust in your heart and soul, everything else will evolve as necessary. I believe that hardships are sometimes sent to us as a test. Without the ups and downs in our lives we would become very very boring people indeed. Life with all its joy and sorrow, fear and love help us grow as people. Take Care and remember to take a deep breath of fresh air and let your good spirits soar.
